Le Fel is a small and picturesque village a short distance west of Entraygues-sur-Truyère in the north of the Aveyron department.
Most visitors come to Le Fel because of the renowned pottery centre of Le Don du Fel, but the nearby village is also an attraction of interest to visitors.

France This Way review: although Le Fel is a small village it is very pretty and has lovely views across the Lot valley and a visit is recommended
The road that leads up to the village is steep and winding, but well worth the effort! You can park near the camping and cabins at the west end of the Le Fel. Spend a minute enjoying the views across the Lot valley from here before following the road that leads uphill into the centre of Le Fel.
There are several very pretty old buildings in the centre such as a tower (a historic windmill) and several old stone barns as well as several charming stone houses.
The centre of Le Fel is further enhanced by the flowers and pretty gardens along the route as well as very impressive views across the valley to either side of the village.
Although there are very few commerces in Le Fel, you will find the Logis Auberge du Fel in the centre, a small hotel and restaurant with a nice outdoor terrace area.
At the highest point in the village you reach the town hall for Le Fel, and another small parking area. If you continue a few hundred metres further, you reach the Church Saint-Julien de Roussy, with a stone interior and gothic rib vaults as well as more pretty views across the countryside!
The area beyond the church is called the "Réserve naturelle régionale des coteaux du Fel", a protected natural area that is traversed by several footpaths.
Attractions nearby
A long distance path, the GR 465A, passes through the centre of the village and can be followed a few kilometres in either direction if you want to explore the countryside of the north of Aveyron.
Le Fel is very close to the border between Aveyron and Cantal. Places to visit nearby include the town of Entraygues-sur-Truyère, to the east of Le Fel, and the beautiful village at Conques, in the Aveyron department a few kilometres south of Le Fel.
