Explore Junhac
France This Way review: although small, Junhac is a pretty village surrounded by the chestnut forests and fields of the region and some lovely houses and we recommend you pause here when exploring the south Cantal
One of the most striking aspects of our stroll through Junhac was the number of well maintained gardens we saw. You will also see some charming houses, a couple of them appear very grand!
Towards the lowest end of the village, the area around the church and war memorial should be part of your route through Junhac: it is nicely maintained and you pass through an arch in a stone wall to see an old houses in stone and colombage.
For the best view of the village follow the road a short distance out of Junhac, along the road that leads up the hill. You are vey quickly in pretty countryside with a lovely view across the village below you.
Commerces are limited in Junhac, but you will find a cafe and a small shop (more commerces are available at Montsalvy, a few kilometres from here). There is an old stone fountain and iron cross in front of the cafe.
