Get paid to write about France
We will pay you to:
- describe places in France, the places that you believe the rest of us would love to come across and discover during a visit to France, or perhaps those we should avoid...or
- share your expert knowledge eg of French history, finance
In France there are hundreds of beautiful villages and towns. While we at francethisway.com travel around quite a lot doing research, it is not possible for us to visit everywhere ourselves - and in any case our visit can't compare with local knowledge, or someone who has spent a few days in a particular place.
So we try to improve the site by having places described by people who know them, have visited them recently, or live near them, and can tell us what is good (or bad) about a town or attraction.
Similarly, we always need interesting articles about other aspects of France and French life.
What we are looking for
We are looking for articles of 500-1000 words. These should also include a photo if possible, if describing a destination, not necessary if describing pension reforms!
Don't worry if there is already a small article already in place - many would benefit from being rewritten by someone with local or specialist knowledge
The article should be written in a friendly, informal way. See our article about La Palmyre for a recent example.
You don't need great writing skills!
You are welcome to suggest several articles or locations at the same time.
What we can offer
We can pay 10 euros (8 pounds) per article or more for a longer or more extensive article, or for a series of articles about a region. Sorry we aren't richer!
So spend tomorrow writing 5 articles about your 5 closest towns (or places you recently visited on holiday) and we will pay 50 euros. Why not have a day out, visit a few local towns and villages, go for lunch - then come home and write about the places you visited...
Please check with us before you start writing, in case we already have someone working on a particular French destination, or have ourselves planned a trip, or have a similar article already hidden away within the site.
Payment
Payment will be made by PayPal (sterling, euros, US dollars, etc) or by personal cheque (sterling or euros only, I'm afraid) after the article is received.
The small print
francethisway.com will have full rights to use the article in whole or in part, possibly in more than one page or website, or to modify the article
The article must be unique, and must not be given or sold to anyone else, or published elsewhere on the internet or in print (search engines like google won't include the same article more than once in their results).
The article cannot be used to promote your own gite or business in France - we have a separate advertising section for that purpose.
