Video of France
Too much doom and gloom with all this talk of farming in crisis and Brits who can’t afford to go on holiday, or expats who have to drive thousands of miles to buy their croissants in Tesco? We have the antidote!
I’ve mostly given up looking at videos of France on the internet because there are just so many amateurish ‘lets make a video out of a few blurred holiday snapshots’ efforts to wade through, so when Marco Aslam suggested we take a look at his video of ‘France travels’ I didn’t get over-excited.
But to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement! The video (below) is an original and very beautiful way of looking at France as much by its people as its buildings and scenery. Many thanks to Marco for suggesting the video to us!

It makes me want to rush out and buy a video camera but unfortunately the problem lies more with my non-existent artistic skills as with a lack of equipment.
By the way, the music in the video is by Sigur Ros, one of my all time favourite groups (even if the words are in Icelandic) which makes it even better.
But how many places did you recognise…?
Not my kind of thing. I thought the music was depressing. Could only watch about half. Sorry.
Try this for a bit of life, and yes its German.

Ah but surely it would be a bit predictable to use Bach as background music for a travel video? I’d settle for Lili Boulanger, one of France’s best composers if I had to…
It was not for a travel video but an example of uplifting music.
Is there a high suicide rate in Iceland? .
Or you could try this on 4 saxaphones.

Drifting slightly off topic…but if saxophones are needed then you should try this. Not quite as cheerful as your suggestion I’m afraid, but hopefully not suicidal!
Very good Boris i enjoyed that for a slow piece. I could continue to share my favorites with you, but then again ………….
Er! Biarritz, Paris, and I think it was a beach near Whiteley Bay. Very pleasant but could do with sub-titles and the telephone no. of that good looking man…..
That was so beautiful! thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful video so intimately pieced together.
