It is still a long way away. We have an ANCIENT septic tank that is so incapable of working efficiently that we have to have it emptied every 10 months, and put expensive treatment down the toilet every couple of days. Expensive or what!! So imagine our chargin last week when we found out that loads of people in our village has dispensed with their tanks and installed Saniflow toilets - that they pipe directly into the general drainage system!! When we asked if that was allowed (?!) we got the typical French shrugs.....even from our local Councillor! Guess what we are saving up for now.... Like you, we are waiting for mains drainage – having been promised it was imminent 5 years ago! It is still a long way away.
