I have been selling on Ebay for 4 years from France and it is hard work and prices are of the lowest common denominator. I wouldn't advise anyone to try this one unless they have a very good connection for getting brand names at very low prices. Very time consuming and not worth the effort, that has been my experience. Have a look at the seller forums on Ebay to get an idea of how bad it is. There are some companies (not the word companies) that are all ready established and have a massive stock range and they do well. It isn't what it was for the hobby/part-time seller.

On that note, Rod what do you manufacture? I am looking for an alternative to Ebay!!

Hi Jo,
I used to buy articles from constant-content occasionally, but something changed and there were suddenly lots of articles on their site being sold as original when in fact they had been already published elsewhere, so I stopped using them. Obviously the price I or anyone else will pay for an original article is very different from one that has already appeared elsewhere. But yes, I agree that from the point of view of a writer, and especially if you can respond to specific article requests, they are a good idea.
Pete,
That sounds very sensible advice. You're right, not a job for everyone with a computer and 'google translator'. When I said bilingual I was thinking of people with French partners, very good qualifications, raised in France etc.
Cheers

Another good site for web based article writing is www.constant-content.com. It's paid in dollars via paypal, but you can submit on just about any subject,or answer to public requests on specific topics.Won't make you rich, but it's surprising how quickly the payments can mount up, and the extrs cash comes in handy, poaricularly if you leave it in the Paypal account for a rainy day.

Some good ideas! Just a caveat on the translation theme... as a professional qualified translator myself (member of the Institute of Linguists), I regularly see poorly translated versions of everything from instruction manuals to subtitles. Despite being bilingual I NEVER translate away from my mother tongue, only into it, and all good translation professionals would agree with this policy. So unqualified Brits translating into French? Definitely not a good idea! You need a French national or a genuinely bilingual (preferably raised in France) person to do that. Students might seem ideal, except that few seem to have much of a notion of grammar and/or spelling these days!!
