Just wanted to say that I have taken the Wordpress static route with the 'website' for our gite. I have kept it basic, it was free and easy to create, I can edit whenever I want and although perhaps open to critisism (the photos are rubbish eg!) I am more than happy with it and am often fiddling about as I learn of new techniques etc... And why pay someone else to design one for you when it's so easy to do your own?
