Camping holidays in Vendee, France

Vendee is one of the most popular  destinations for a camping holiday in France.

The region is easy to get to - it is found on the Atlantic coast south of Brittany and north of Poitou-Charentes - and has many miles of long sandy beaches, many that gently slope into the sea and are perfect for children.

Due to its unique microclimate the Vendee gets almost as many hours of sunshine each year as the Cote d'Azur.

 

VENDEE CAMPSITES - NORTH TO SOUTH

St Jean-de-Monts and the northern Vendee coast

- La Yole is in a woodland seting perfect for families and children at 2 km from a beach; the modern site and impressive pool complex at Le Clarys Plage is just 10 minute walk from the beach; the campsite at Les Genets is a stroll from the beach and popular with teenagers and older children; Zagarelle is close to a very good beach, and has an on-site gymnasium as well as pools etc

Siblu have two campsites here, one action packed at Le Bois Masson and the other peaceful and calm at Le Bois Dormant. Le Bois Masson is closer to the beach and has all the lively atmosphere you could hope for, while Le Bois Dormant is set in attractive grounds and still only 1.5km from the beaches. One possible option - stay at Le Bois Dormant and you can still use all the facilities at Le Bois Masson, perhaps the best of both worlds!

St Hilaire-de-Riez

The campsite at Les Ecureuils is smaller than some and prides itself on its friendly, family atmosphere, and is close to a long beach; Sol-a-Gogo has direct access to the beach and a very impressive pool complex; and camping at Les Biches is in an attractive pine woodland setting.

St Julien des Landes

The campsite at La Garangeoire is in a lakeside setting in the grounds of a privately owned chateau, and there is a chateau and lakes also at La Foret - both are a little inland in Vendee compared with the other campsites shown.

Les Sables d'Olonne

The camping location at Le Littoral is very close to a rocky cove and about a mile from the beach.

Jard-sur-Mer

Close to the pretty village and harbour at Jard-sur-Mer you will find the modern L'Oceano d'Or.

Southern Vendee

Three campsites towards the southern end of the Cote de Lumiere (Vendee coast):  Zagarella is a modern campsite and gym close to a great beach, Bel is a short walk from La Tranche-sur-Mer and adjacent to the longest beach in Vendee!; and Du Jard is also a well-maintained campsite close to a beach.
