Roquebrun
Roquebrun is found in the Herault department of Languedoc, about 25km inland from Beziers.
It is a charming small town in an attractive setting on the River Orb. Once upon a time a grand castle stood poised above the village - but now all that remains of the castle is one solitary tower.
Enter the village by the arched bridge across the Orb, then spend some time exploring the narrow streets of the village and admiring the houses - happily not yet over-renovated.
You can also see the old moulins (mills) along the river side, perhaps before hiring a canoe to explore the stretch of river around the town.
A very popular attraction at Roquebrun is the Mediterranean garden, where an ideal location - sunny yet sheltered from the wind - has permitted a very impressive selection of plants to be grown.
