Taken from a vineyard just outside the north part of Wissembourg. You can see the St. Pierre et Paul church, the second most important church, from an achitectural viewpoint in Northern Alsace after Strasbourg. Slightly left, you see the Selzhaus with its impressive roof, which used to be a salt store.

In the background you can see the snow covered Black Forest, near Baden-Baden. Also, what is little known, the Prussian - French war of 1870-71 which France lost and led to the Unification of German under Prussian Rule, started here just south of Wissembourg on the 4th of August 1870. There are 3 monuments, 1 French and 2 German. It shows very clearly the fascinating history here and how much Germany and France are intertwined in this part of the world.
