Cavalaire-sur-Mer
Cavalaire is in the Var department of the Cote d’Azur.
Cavalaire is a pretty family resort which sits on a 3km long sandy beach on the most southerly part of the coastal stretch of the Var department.
The resort of Cavalaire-sur-Mer is particularly renowned for its water-sports. It is a favourite Jet Ski training venue and host to the « Jet Games » competition in September every year. Sailing, catamaran, windsurfing and motor boats are also very well catered for.
The port of Cavalaire is one of the most-sheltered and best-equipped of the Cote d’Azur. The sea-bed is particularly interesting here also and so it is an excellent spot for scuba diving.
Whilst in Cavalaire-sur-Mer take a walk along the Fenouillet footpath, a coastal footpath which leads to Cap Carnarat and extends through a nature reserve.
Day boat trips can be taken to the nearby Golden Islands - Port-Cros, Porquerolles and Le Levant.
Market day is every Wednesday morning on the Place Jean Moulin.
