Casteljaloux

Casteljaloux is located in the south-west of the Lot-et-Garonne department of south-west France.

A fairly quiet country town in the rolling countrsyide typical of the Lot-et-Garonne / Gascony region, Casteljaloux doesn't have a major role on the tourist trail but is a pleasant workaday town that deserves a visit.

The highlights include some attractive half-timbered houses in the town centre and a medieval convent and cloisters.

There is also a thermal spa in the town if you feel the need for more rest and relaxation provided by the the Gascony countryside and a glass of wine!

The main centre for visitors staying at Casteljaloux is the tourist complex around the lake - Lac de Clarens - where you will find, in addition to the swimming lake, a golf course, restaurants and various accommodation options.

The Pays d'Albret name (from the duchy that ruled the region in the 16th century) is now used in tourist information to describe the region around Casteljaloux (and Nerac).
