Normandy beaches and coastal towns
Some of the most popular beaches and coastal towns in Normandy include:
- Saint Malo
- Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville
- Le Touquet
- Hardelot
The Normandy Landing Beaches have a separate section because of their historical importance and significance, and because they tend to attract visitors because of this, rather than 'beach lovers'. See Normandy Landing Beaches and also Arromanches.
Sections of coast in this part of France include:
- the Opal Coast in the Calais region (so not strictly Normandy)
- the dramatic white cliffs and rock formations of the Alabaster Coast around the ports of Dieppe and Le Havre, and the popular resort villages of Etretat and Fécamp
- the Cote Fleurie around Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville, also Cabourg and Houlgate
- the Cote de Nacre between Ouistreham and Courseulles-sur-Mer
- the section of coast between the Cotentin peninsula and Courseulles-sur-Mer includes most of the Normandy landing Beaches. At Arromanches-les-Bains you can see the floating port used during the landings
- the Cote des Havres is on the western side of the Cotentin peninsula, including Granville.
