Lods
Lods ('most beautiful villages of France') is 30 kilometres south-east of Besancon in the Doubs department of Franche-Comte.
Tourist Information and places to visit
The small village is classified as a 'most beautiful village in France' and lies on the Loue River - the Loue River valley is the main attraction of the region.
The setting of the village is attractive, with tree lined slopes all around, and Lods itself is a quiet village with some pretty, narrow, 'authentic French' streets to amble around.
The church and the winegrowers house are among the points of interest in the village.
While in the region visiting Lods you should also visit nearby Ornans, and enjoy a tour along the peaceful valley of the river Loue. Other noteworthy places in the valley include Mouthier-haute-Pierre, Vuillafans-Chateauvieux and Ouhans, Cleron and Scey-en-Veray, each with their own particular appeal.
