Day trip to France
booze cruise, christmas shopping, or a fun day out on a ferry

FREE FERRY CROSSING TO FRANCE - SEE FURTHER DOWN THIS PAGE

For many years it has been popular to make a day trip to France, especially for those living within easy access of the ports of southern England. The pleasure of shopping in a different environment, the even greater pleasure of buying wine and other items at much cheaper prices than they can be bought at home, or simply for the fun of an adventurous day out - it's always a great way to spend a day.

The price of wine in France is still lower than in the UK, and there are now few limits on how much alcohol you can take to the UK, as long as it is for personal consumption.

FERRY CROSSINGS

Cross-channel ferries now operate in a very competitive market and there are often bargains to be had. You can visit our Ferries to France section to organise your crossing, but first check out the following offer from Majestic Wine:

MAJESTIC WINE - IN FRANCE!

Majestic Wine have opened three stores at convenient locations near the ports. They have a great selection of wines available at great prices, and also spirits and beers, that can be pre-ordered before you leave the UK. So you can spend longer selecting the wines that are right for you, and less time battling with the crowds in an enormous hypermarket.

You can check out their website at Majestic Wine in France (or see the individual store details for Calais, nearby Coquelles, and Cherbourg) but first read about the Special Offer below:

FREE FERRY CROSSING IF YOU PRE-ORDER FROM MAJESTIC WINE

Valid until 3rd September 2007, if you pre-order your wine from Majestic wine at their wine supermarkets at Calais, or Coquelles, you can also get a free ferry crossing for your day trip to France.

To qualify for a completely free ferry you need to pre-order £300 worth of products. If you plan to spend less, those spending £50-299.99 on a pre-order can have a cheap day-return ferry to France for just £32.

And if you don't want the free ferry crossing, but still spend more than £300, tell them in the shop and they will take £30 off the bill!
